About

Symphony in Ninety Minutes takes a group with no musical experience and has it playing like a real orchestra in just 90 minutes. It is one of the most impressive centrepieces you can add to a large conference or incentive programme in the region.

Participants learn real instruments from across the orchestra: strings, woodwind, brass and percussion.

Once everyone has chosen an instrument, they work in sections with expert musicians, learning their part step by step until they feel confident. The musicians make sure each person has an instrument that suits them and a part they can master.

When the sections are ready, they come together under the conductor’s baton to perform a specially written five-minute piece. The effect is electrifying, and few people forget the moment they first hear the whole group play together.

Learning outcomes

This is one of the most demanding and rewarding team events available. It stretches people beyond their perceived limits and asks for hard work, total concentration and genuine teamwork.

However tough the challenge feels at the start, the reward is an experience nobody will forget.

A symphony is one of the clearest examples of a team working as one. Players must be emotionally and creatively tuned in to each other, while people doing very different tasks work towards a common goal.

Participants see first-hand how every section's contribution matters, and how listening, timing and trust turn many individual parts into one powerful result. Leaders often use the experience as a metaphor for cross-functional work for months afterwards. It is a celebration of what a team can achieve together.
